These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of Hook a Book by readers, authors, and administrators. By using the platform, you agree to these terms.
1. Platform Use
Hook a Book is a private ARC and rewards platform. Access may be limited, reviewed, suspended, or withdrawn at any time by platform administrators. Reader and author access is subject to approval and ongoing compliance with platform rules.
2. Eligibility and Approval
Reader and author accounts may require manual approval before full access is granted. Users are responsible for providing accurate signup and profile information, including any required social media or author details used for eligibility checks.
3. ARC Access and Review Responsibilities
ARC access is granted for review purposes only. Download limits, deadlines, and review expectations may apply on a per-book basis. Users agree not to misuse ARC files, distribute them without permission, or misrepresent review activity. Administrators and authors may archive books or remove access according to platform rules.
4. Rewards, Referrals, and Points
Points, referrals, achievements, and rewards are part of the platform experience and may be adjusted, limited, revoked, or discontinued at any time to address abuse, errors, policy changes, or platform updates. Reward availability is not guaranteed, and redeemed items may be subject to access rules set by the platform.
5. User Content and Conduct
You are responsible for any profile information, social links, private feedback, and review links submitted through the platform. You must not upload unlawful, misleading, infringing, abusive, or malicious material, and you must not interfere with the operation or security of the platform.
6. Intellectual Property
All platform branding, software, and content remain the property of their respective owners. ARC files, book covers, blurbs, and author materials are provided for permitted platform use only and must not be reused or redistributed outside the rights granted by the relevant rights holder.
7. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, reject, or terminate any account or access rights at our discretion, including for misuse, inactivity, failure to meet approval criteria, suspected abuse of rewards or referrals, or breach of these terms.
8. Disclaimer and Liability
The platform is provided on an as-available basis without warranties of uninterrupted service, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or data-related losses arising from use of the platform.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are published means you accept the revised terms.
